You can ask for a referral from your primary care doctor, your behavioral health care provider, or your health plan. In some health plans, you may be able to make an appointment directly with a behavioral healthcare provider. In other plans, you may need to first obtain authorization from your primary care doctor and/or your health plan to be referred to see our behavioral health care provider. You will need prior approval from your health plan before you or a family member receives residential care treatment. If your plan says the treatment is not medically necessary, you can file a complaint with your health plan.

At Abide Health Medical each client is thoroughly evaluated by a licensed mental health professional to access their primary mental health needs and establish a proper diagnosis. The more we know about you - including your symptoms, stressors, behavior, medical history and more - the better chance you'll receive appropriate treatment based on your needs.

That depends on the individual and their needs. Some come into outpatient care and only need to be there for an hour initially while others need extended care. Your doctor will help to decide whether short- or long-term care is the right option. The time needed can depend on the diagnosis. If you suspect your loved one requires outpatient care, speak with their doctor to find out if its the right option. If you are in charge of their care and suspect that they are having severe problems, you can have them committed to ensuring their safety. if your loved one decides to go into patient care every week or ever two weeks, especially for medication management, our providers are there to care for them and help guide them through the process.
